Relationship Building
I am an aspiring Andela Fellow and it’s been a week now that have been at the Andela Bootcamp. It’s been an interesting week of fun and fast paced learning and as expected, some relationships has been made along the way.
My first contact was with my class tutor in person of Godson Ukpere. He’s and awesome instructor who loves being in good body shape as can be observed from his physique and I would like to say “He’s fisicallyfeet”. He loves NBA and He’s a graduate of Electronic and Information Engineering from Covenant University, Ota.
I also met Surajudeen Akande another Andela fellow, the first thing I noticed about Suraj is that he is always happy and smiling. Prior to being an andela fellow, he has a Mathematics degree from the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology. He applied for andela thrice before finally getting in July 2015. He gave me several motivational words, tips and what is required from to be an Andela fellow.
Rowland Ekemezie is a tall, agile and enthusiastic fellow. He is from south east Nigeria, he studied Computer Science at the prestigious Nnamdi Azikwe University, Awka. Mere looking at Mr Rowland you will know he is a guy that knows his onions. And although i didn’t spend the desired quality time with him, i noticed that he values originality, doing something for its importance or value, not just because others are doing it and not just moving with the crowd. Rowland got in to the fellowship at cycle 11 and he has never looked back since then. He said he is enjoying himself with the challenge at Andela.
I was able to relate with Olumiyiwa Osiname. He didn’t seem like much of a talker but on getting to know him a bit more, I could see that he is a man of discipline who believes that there is a standard way to do things and they should be done accordingly. His love for knowledge made him a vault of knowledge which he showed by the advises he gave to me. His feedback showed his sympathy towards us and want for me to grow as a fellow developer and as a person. His confidence showed that he was willing to converse about anything and was willing to admit those he didn’t know about.
I met Verem another fellow. He is quite quiet and doesn’t say much unless spoken to, smiles a lot while he talks. He takes coding to be his hobby and never gets tired of it. The smile he wears is the most unique thing about him, it actually encourages people to approach him easily.
It’s been an awesome week in here. I do hope to become a Fellow myself soon.
